Karla is the co-owner/broker of American Way Realty. She has been a full-time REALTOR® since 1976. She started American Way Realty in 2001 and it has consistently been a top-producing office in the Greater Mankato area.
Karla is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute and has also achieved the designations of Certified Residential Specialist and Accredited Buyers Representative. Karla is active with the Board of Realtors® and proudly has the distinction of being the first woman to be the President of the local Board of Realtors®. She started her career with the Century 21 system where for 14 consecutive years she received the top-producing award as a Centurian as well as being inducted in the International Hall of Fame. Karla is fun to work with, easy and relaxed. The most liked aspect about dealing with Karla is she doesn't over sell you. I've worked with other realtors in the past who gave guidelines on listing the house for a price that was $60K beyond what anyone else was willing to pay. So imagine the disappointment when time of sale comes and you are getting no where near that. That didn't happen with Karla. She realistically advised a price, we went with it and sold for right around it. So I was actually able to budget based on expectations being met.

Karla is outstanding. We owned 2 properties. One we had on the market with 3 different ages for 3 years. Because we are in MN (and we had tons of gardens and ponds), springtime is the best time to sell. With 3 agents and 3 years we never even got an offer. The 4th year my husband hear Karla was voted #1 real estate agent in Mankato. We called her the fourth year to list it and she had a buyer in 24 hours. She called us at midnight with our asking price plus fewer contingencies we offered. We closed in 4 weeks. It was a 3 sided earth home that banks normally don't easily lend $'s for. She had bank contacts and appraiser contacts that made it happen. Seven years later my husband died and I wanted to sell my house and move to AZ. A co-worker of my husbands wanted to purchase it. Karla Van Eman was up front about what needed to be done to the house for best sale and what was selling in the area that was comparable to my house and what price to list it at. She explained any costs that we most likely would pay and how fast the house was likely to sell. She had a top notch photographer for the listing pictures, which were gorgeous. She was available for questions and showed up at the closing on time. When I listed my home we had an acceptable offer within 4 days. The home closed in less than a month. I can't say enough about Karla's wonderful professionalism and insight.

When I decided to purchase my first home, I started by browsing online. I looked at houses listed online, prices, locations, schools, etc. When I began finding homes I thought I’d like to see I contacted Angie to be my realtor and set up times to see a couple homes I thought my family might love. We chatted about my wants/likes, dislikes, deal-breakers, needs, price range, locations, etc. We liked a home, it sold before we decided to offer. Saw some others that looked good online but were completely different in person. I will never forget, when I got discouraged, she said "I will find the perfect home for you, don’t worry.
