I live in the twin cities, although I grew up in Mankato. We originally listed my parents’ home with another agency last summer, we set the price for the listing and that was about all that happened. When the four months expired, I contacted Karla Van Eman at American Way Reality. Karla was familiar with the home since she had been in the home with potential buyers. Karla made it easy for me to work with her even though I was 90 miles away; the listing paper work was handled via e-mail saving me time and travel.

Working with Karla things started happening immediately; we discussed the pricing strategy for the home and agreed on where we should set the price. We also discussed when we should move the price if it became necessary. Karla arranged for a city inspection to ensure we were up to the latest codes, and she recommended we add a buyer’s warranty to the home. Karla took many pictures of the home inside and out and she placed a comprehensive listing of the home on her website with links from other commonly used MLS websites.

Once the offers started to come in Karla was very helpful in helping us understand the quality of the offer, and she was skilled at all of the back-and-forth that goes on between the buyer’s and seller’s agents. Once the right buyer cane forward, Karla helped us negotiate the final terms quickly and efficiently, and she arranged for the closing in our attorney’s office.

Throughout the entire process, once we started working with American Way Reality, we felt we were in-the-loop and we knew what was going on at any given moment. We received email updates anytime someone was through the home; seeing comments from potential buyers was always appreciated and helpful. If I had questions or suggestions they were quickly and efficiently handled via telephone or e-mail.
