Real estate has always been a family affair. I have been around the real estate industry all of my life. My father, Russ VanEman, worked as a REALTOR® and owned a construction company that developed and built houses in the Mankato area for nearly 30 years. My mother, Karla VanEman, has been a licensed REALTOR® for over 30 years and has been the top REALTOR® in Mankato for several years. She is the Broker/Owner for American Way Realty. My brother, Michael VanEman, is a licensed REALTOR® and works on rehabbing houses on the side.

For as long as I can remember I have been around real estate transactions. From developing, building, rehabbing, buying and selling, I have had almost 20 years of training and mentoring. In 2005, I become a licensed REALTOR® while attending college at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Mass Communications with and emphasis in Public Relations. There I learned valuable techniques in marketing and promotion of products, which is very helpful in translating over to the real estate industry.

In the summer of 2008, I moved to New York City and worked as a licensed sale associate focusing on rentals along with sales and acquisition for a high-end luxury real estate firm in the Upper West Side. During my 14 months of being in the NYC real estate industry I was consecutively among the top 3 rental agents at the company. After 4 months I was featured in Brokers Weekly, a Manhattan Real Estate publication, for my innovative marketing skills through the use of social networks. After 9 months of focusing primarily on rentals I turned my focus to working with buyers and sellers. During that time I sold luxury condos in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and assisted buyers in purchase. I currently hold a license there.

In the fall of 2009, I returned to Minnesota to focus on the Mankato real estate full time. I specialize in buyer representation and hold an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation. I also am the Relocation Director for American Way Realty working with buyers coming from out of state to Mankato. Most recently I completed the Short Sales and Foreclosure Certification Program (SFR) and earned a SFR designation.

In today’s tough market, the real estate industry has turned into a “Beauty Contest and a Price War”.
